Starter Locking Bolt Kit

Description

A simple kit to lock your starter bolts together to prevent loosening. Includes two Grade 10.9 starter bolts which we have cross-drilled for safety wire, two washers and enough safety wire to install them a handful of times. Extra safety wire can be purchased online as well as at your local hardware store.

Safety wiring is a simple process that takes only a few minutes. It’s a positive locking system that also functions as a visual indicator that the bolts have been and still are torqued correctly.

Starter bolts are torqued to only 30-40 ft/lbs! When the starter bolts loosen they are much more likely to break leaving you stranded (not being able to start your truck as well as with the unpleasant task of having to drill out the broken bolt without ruining the threads on the block. This is even more of an issue when using a non-OEM starter with no support on the opposite end. People often try to combat this loosening by over-torquing the bolts causing them to stretch and fail.
