SUMMARY:Hummer Club Inc. - AOAA Fall 2026
DESCRIPTION:Event:\nAOAA Fall 2026\n\n\nType:\nClub\n\n\nLocation:\nCoal Township\, PA 17866\n\n\nDate(s):\n10/9/2026 – 10/10/2026\n\n\nCoordinator:\nDave Yeck\ndaveyeck@thehummerclubinc.com\n610-721-9012\n\n\nMechanical Support:\nMember\n\n\nDescription:\n \nDates: October 9-10th\, 2026 \nEvent Location: Anthracite Outdoor Adventure Area\, Coal Township Pennsylvania \n\n\n\nFees:\n\n\n\n\nDriver & Truck:\n$50.00\n\n\nPassenger:\n$50.00\n\n\nExtra Event T-Shirt:\n$20.00\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRegistration Info:\n\nEvent Description:\n \nJoin the Hummer Club at Anthracite Outdoor Adventure Area (AOAA) in Coal Township\, Pennsylvania\, one of the premier off-road destinations in the Northeast. Spanning more than 8\,000 acres of reclaimed anthracite coal lands\, AOAA blends Pennsylvania mining history with modern off-road recreation. \nThis region was once home to a thriving coal industry\, and today those same hills and ridgelines have been transformed into a offroad trail system featuring everything from scenic forest roads to rocky climbs and technical terrain. The park is divided into the Eastern Reserve and Western Reserve\, with a wide range of trail options suitable for everything from stock 4×4 vehicles to highly built custom rigs. \nThe Hummer Club has been going to AOAA since the early days of the park. Club members were present in 2013 when the visitor center first broke ground\, and have experienced the park year after year as the park has expanded into what it is today. What started as an exciting new venue for off-road driving has grown into one of our most anticipated annual events. The expansive park delivers a unique off-road experience that keeps Hummer Club members coming back every season. \nOptional Trail Pre-run October 8th: \nFor members who want an extra day of off-road driving\, there will be a trail pre-run on Thursday\, October 8th. This gives a chance for a smaller group to scout trail conditions\, get a feel for the terrain\, and assist with route planning for the main event. If you’re interested in joining the pre-run\, it’s recommended that you arrive the day before\, sometime on Wednesday\, October 7th after 3:00pm hotel check in time\, to be ready for an early start. Participants usually gather for a driver’s meeting around 8:00 AM in the hotel parking lot\, although the exact timing is often flexible and left to the discretion of those attending. Since not all members arrive early\, pre-run groups tend to be smaller and more casual. If you plan to participate\, please contact the event coordinator ahead of time or let another club member attending the pre-run know so the group can coordinate with you. \nClub Event Registration Fees: \n\nDriver and Truck: $50.00\nPassenger Fee: $50.00\nExtra T-Shirt: $20.00\n\n*Each registered attendee will receive an event t-shirt. T-shirt sizes will be collected during registration. Additional shirts may be purchased during registration or at the event while supplies last. Registration also includes the group dinner on Sunday evening. The group dinner information has not been finalized and is subject to changes based on total attendance* \nHotel Information: \n  \nOfficial Hotel: \nCountry Inn & Suites by Radisson\, Frackville (Pottsville)\, PA \nAddress: 100 Keystone Blvd East Pottsville\, PA 17901 \nPhone: 1-570-544-5201 \nDetails:\nThe Hummer Club has secured a discounted room block. This will be the official hotel for the event. There is a total of 23 reserved rooms for the club. Space is limited\, so book early. The stay dates (by night) that are available are Wednesday\, October 7th through Saturday\, October 10th\, 2026. \nRoom Block Name: 2026 Hummer Club \nDigital Booking Code: CN88K2 \n\nCheck-in at 3:00 PM\nCheck-out at 12:00 PM\n\nRoom Types and Rates (per night\, before 11% Room tax): \n\n$129 – Standard Queen Room (two queen beds):\n$149 – King Suite\n\nRooms must be booked by September 23\, 2026 \n\nAfter this date\, the group room block is released to the public & you will no longer have access to the special group rate\nAn online booking link with the Hummer Club discount code is available\nYou may also book by calling the hotel directly (see phone number above)\nCancellations must be made by 6:00 PM on the day of arrival to avoid a one-night charge plus tax\n\n   \nAlternative Lodging: \nWhile the Country Inn & Suites is the official Hummer Club hotel for this event\, there are alternative lodging options. If our room block fills up\, there are a few alternatives to consider. \nTownePlace Suites by Marriott Pottsville – (Alternative Hotel)  \n\nLocated across the street from the official hotel the club is staying at\, less than 1 mile away\nFeatures on-site L2 EV Charger in the parking lot\nMay be a good option for Hummer EV owners who want overnight charging access\nAside from this hotel\, there are no other major hotels located immediately nearby\nTheir nightly rates are higher than the Hummer Club discounted room block\n\nTrailhead Campground – Onsite Camping Located Next To AOAA: \n\nOperates as a separate entity from AOAA\nOffers both RV sites and primitive camping\nReservations must be made directly through the campground website\nIdeal option for those who prefer to camp\n\n*Any of these lodging options are acceptable. However\, it is your responsibility to ensure you meet up with the rest of the Hummer Club at the official hotel for the drivers meeting\, or coordinate meeting the group directly at the park if you are staying at the campground. If you live locally and do not require lodging\, that is perfectly fine as well.* \nClub Group Dinner – Saturday\, October 10 \nA group club dinner is included in the event registration fee \n\nWill take place on Saturday\, October 10\nFollowing the second full day on the trails\nDetails are To Be Determined\n\nThe exact group dinner location will depend on total attendance and has not yet been finalized at this time. The final decision will be made by the event coordinator and is subject to changes based on group size and overall logistics. \nIn the past for larger events\, the club has used AOAA’s on-site pavilion with catered food. The pavilion is located trailhead by the entrance\, making it a convenient gathering spot. This makes sense when multiple Hummer Club trail groups are out riding and returning at different times\, hosting dinner at the park simplifies coordination and eliminates the need to relocate dozens of trucks to an off-site location. \nIf attendance size is more manageable\, the group will likely return to the Comfort Inn to allow time for members to clean up and change clothes after the trails if needed. In that case\, attendees will meet at the Comfort Inn hotel entrance at 6:30 PM\, and the group will depart together for dinner at a restaurant in one of the surrounding Pennsylvania towns close to the hotel. \n\nItinerary:\n \n\n\n\nDate\nDay Type\nSchedule\n\n\nWednesday\, October 7th (Optional)\nTravel\nAFTER 3:00PM – Arrive at the Comfort Inn for trail pre-run in the afternoon/evening\n\n\nThursday\, October 8th\nPre-run \nor \nTravel\nGo Offroad for Optional trail pre-run day at AOAA Park \nOR \nTravel & Arrive at Comfort Inn for main event (If you are skipping the pre-run)\n\n\nFriday\, October 9th\nOffroad\n8:00 AM – Drivers meeting in the front entrance of the Comfort Inn \n8:30 AM – Head out to the AOAA trailhead & purchase trail permits \n5:00 PM – Return From the trails\n\n\nSaturday\, October 10th\nOffroad\n8:00 AM – Drivers meeting in the rear parking lot of the Comfort Inn \n8:30 AM – Head out for the trails \n5:00 PM – Return From Trails \n6:30 PM – Club Group Dinner\n\n\nSunday\, October 11th\nTravel\nMorning – Checkout early of hotel in the morning & return home\n\n\n\n  \n  \n\nThings To Know About the Local Area & Park:\n\nAnthracite Outdoor Adventure Area is located in a rural section of eastern Pennsylvania. The park itself is approximately 19 miles or about 30 minutes from the official club hotel. While there are small towns nearby\, amenities around the official hotel are limited\, so it is recommended to bring any specialty supplies or parts you may need for the weekend. \n\nHotel Area (Pottsville / Industrial Corridor) \nThe official hotel is located in a relatively secluded area surrounded primarily by commercial distribution centers. The only thing around the immediate area is a newer truck stop that opened in the past few years called ONVO Travel Plaza\, located less than a mile from the hotel. It may be useful during your stay as it offers: \n\nFoods\, snacks and drinks\nContains a Burger King\nFuel available on site\nGood quick-stop option before or after trail days\nBasic supplies you would find that a truck stop\n\n\nNearby Towns \nFrackville\, PA – (Near The Official Hotel) \n\nApproximately 7 miles or 12 minutes from the hotel\nSmall town with a few dining options\nSome club members have gone there for dinner after trail days\nPopular local restaurant: Dutch Kitchen\n\nShamokin\, PA – (Near AOAA) \n\nLocated closer to AOAA\nAnother option for dinner or supplies after coming off the trails\nUseful if you need something while closer to the park\n\n  \nPark Permits \nAll participants entering AOAA’s trails are required to have a valid trail pass \n\nPasses are required per person\nPark fees are separate from the Hummer Club event registration fee\nAll participants must complete the AOAA liability waiver online\nPasses may be purchased online in advance or at the AOAA Welcome Center upon arrival\n\n\nImportant: \nTo save time and help keep on schedule\, it is strongly recommended that you sign the waiver before arriving. You can also purchase your trail pass online as well or through the general store on-site. The AOAA general store is relatively small and typically has only one cashier processing permits at a time. When a large group arrives together\, this can significantly delay departure to the trails. \n  \n*If you do not complete the waiver until arrival\, you will need to:* \n\nLocate the website link on your phone\nFill out the waiver information\nAdd information for any accompanying adults or minors\nWait for the confirmation email\nHave the cashier locate your digital waiver you just submitted\nAfter this\, you will be able to buy a park pass\n\n\n\n\n\n \nPermit Pricing: (does not include tax) \n\n\n\nPass Type\nAdult Driver w/ 4×4 Vehicle\nPassenger\nChild (7–15)\nChild (0–6)\n\n\n1 Day\n$40.00\n$20.00\n$15.00\nFree\n\n\n2 Day\n$60.00\n$30.00\n$15.00\nFree\n\n\n3 Day\n$75.00\n$40.00\n$15.00\nFree\n\n\n4 Day\n$85.00\n$50.00\n$15.00\nFree\n\n\n\n  \nTrail Maps and Navigation \nFor maps the digital navigation option for AOAA is onX Offroad \n\nHas excellent documented trail coverage of the entire park\nOffers detailed real time GPS navigation from your phone or tablet\nThe app does require a subscription for use\n\nAOAA also provides its own online PDF official park maps\, and the park is divided into two main riding areas: \n\nWestern Reserve\nEastern Reserve\n\nIt is worth noting that the current PDF maps available on AOAA’s website are relatively low resolution and may not be ideal for detailed viewing on a phone or tablet. Older high-resolution versions of the map can sometimes be found online\, but may not be fully updated. The park also offers a paper version of their own official park maps available at the General Store when purchasing park passes \n*Trail leaders and event coordinators will be familiar with the park layout and will guide groups accordingly\, but having your own map can be helpful for orientation\, identifying points of interest\, or navigating back if needed.* \n\nPark Access Reminder \n\nThe park gates close promptly at 5:00 PM\nAll vehicles must be off the trails and exiting the park by that time\nIt is important to monitor trail time accordingly\n\n  \nImportant Participant Notes \n  \n\nDriver’s meetings will be held each morning in the front of the entrance at official hotel\nAll trucks should be fueled and ready to leave for the trails without the need for additional fuel stops\nBe sure to pack a lunch\, plenty of water\, and extra snacks\nA camping chair is recommended during lunch breaks on the trail\nYou must follow all local offroad park or OHV rules at the places the club visits\nA radio is required for communication during the event.\nThe club now primarily uses GMRS radios\, which have become the standard for most events.\n\no   CB radios are still acceptable \n\nYou do not need to have a radio permanently installed in your vehicle\, but must have at least a handheld radio\nIf you arrive at the event without a radio\, please notify the event coordinator so a solution can be arranged\n\no   In many cases a radio can be borrowed from another participant. \n\nEnsure your truck is well maintained and in good operating condition.\nBring tools & spare parts as you feel necessary\nBe prepared for long trail days. Bring appropriate clothing and fuel as trail days can vary in length & conditions\n\n  \n  \nEV Charging Information for Hummer EV Owners \nEV charging options near the Comfort Inn hotel are limited\, so planning ahead is strongly recommended. There is a nearby Level 2 charging option that works well for overnight charging\, but note that DC fast charging will require additional travel. Ideally\, you should be arriving with a high percentage of charge before arriving to the hotel and have enough range to last for the day on the trails. \nLevel 2 Charging \n\nLocated at TownePlace Suites by Marriott Pottsville\nApproximately 1 mile from the Official Club Hotel (Country Inn & Suites)\nFour ChargePoint J1772 Level 2 chargers rated at approximately 6.6 kW\nTypical charging rate is about 10 to 12 miles of range per hour but may vary\nStaying at this hotel may be a good option if you plan to charge during the event\n\nLevel 3 Fast Charging: \n\nThere are no DC fast chargers in the town where the event hotel is located\nNearest Level 3 chargers are located in neighboring towns about 30-45 minutes away from Comfort Inn\nIt is recommended to fast charge before arriving to maximize range\n\nOne nearby DC fast charging option: \nEVgo GM Charging Station \n\nAddress: 2210 Camp Swatara Rd\, Myerstown\, PA 17067\nApproximately 30 miles or 36 minutes away from Comfort Inn\nFour CCS fast charging up to 350 kW\n\n  \n\n\n\nMechanical Support is provided at all major Club events\nAt Major events the event coordinator and other club members will support any needed repairs to the best of their ability so everyone can fully participate and get home afterwards. We will work to the best of our ability to support you. Your truck must be in excellent mechanical condition due to the nature of these events. Basic hand tools and spare parts on-hand and/or parts that wear when off-roading we suggest you carry. Contact the event coordinator if you have questions about mechanical support and/or what to bring.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n  \nThe Hummer Club :: Upcoming Event

The Hummer Club has been returning to Durango for over 20 years\, and once you see the incredible scenery it has to offer\, you will understand why. \nThe club stays in the town of Durango for the entire event which makes for a home base. From there\, the group can either head north into the San Juan Mountains of Colorado\, where high-altitude passes\, dramatic canyon views\, and historic ghost towns await\, or south into New Mexico\, where two shorter but highly technical and obstacle-heavy trails offer a completely different kind of challenge. Durango sits just 20 miles from the New Mexico border\, so either direction is roughly a 60-to-90-minute drive to the trailhead. \nThe exact trails the group runs and the order in which they run them will be determined during the event itself. The event coordinator takes multiple factors into account including weather\, current trail conditions\, and group size to decide which trails best suit the group on any given day. \n  \nDaily Meeting Location\nDrivers will meet each morning at 8:00 AM at the Walmart Parking Lot\, Southwest corner\, in Durango. This is the daily staging point before the group departs together to the trailhead. Arrive fueled\, fed\, and prepared to leave directly from the meeting. \nView Meeting Location on Google Maps \nAddress: 1155 S Camino Del Rio\, Durango\, CO 81303 \nTrailheads for the New Mexico trails are approximately 1 hour away. Colorado trails in the Silverton / Ouray / Telluride area are 1 to 2 hours away. Arrive with enough fuel for a full day\, do not plan on fueling up after the meeting. \n  \n  \nTrail Selection\nThis event draws from two distinct geographic areas\, giving the group flexibility and variety across the three days. \n\nNew Mexico Trails – Near Aztec\, NM\nTo the south of Durango\, just across the New Mexico border about 20 miles away\, are two challenging off-road trails near Aztec\, NM. These are rated Difficult and are relatively short in distance\, but are packed with obstacles and technical challenges. Both trails are excellent for showcasing the capability of Hummer and HMMWV vehicles\, and the club has taken bone-stock Hummers of all types over these trails successfully. There will be plenty of opportunities to watch and record vehicles in action. \n•       The Grim Reaper – A well-known and appropriately named difficult trail with serious obstacles \n•       Secret Trail – No map available – it really is a secret. You will just have to come and find out \n  \n Colorado Trails – Silverton / Telluride / Ouray Area\nTo the north of Durango lies the legendary San Juan Mountains\, home to some of the most scenic and celebrated off-road trails in the entire country. The club typically runs one high-mountain scenic trail in this area during the event\, with trailheads 1 to 2 hours from Durango. Trail selection will be finalized at the event. \n  \nCandidate Colorado trails include the following. Click any trail name to view it on onX Offroad: \n  \n\n\n\nTrail\nDifficulty\nDescription\n\n\nImogene Pass\nDifficult\nOne of the highest drivable mountain passes in Colorado\, connecting Ouray and Telluride through the San Juan Mountains. Book lodging early to secure your preferred hotel and rate. \n  \nThings To Know About the Local Area and Trails\nThe Town of Durango \nDurango is a vibrant mountain town with an excellent selection of restaurants\, shops\, breweries\, and outdoor activities. Cell coverage is excellent throughout the city\, and you will find fuel stations\, grocery stores\, auto parts stores\, and vehicle services throughout town. The famous Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad departs from right in the heart of downtown. It is still a good idea to bring any specialty items or parts you may need because it’s not guaranteed that you will find them within the town. \n  \n  \nGetting to the Trails\nThe New Mexico trailheads are approximately 1 hour south of Durango. The Colorado trailheads in the Silverton / Ouray / Telluride area are 1 to 2 hours north. The drives to and from the trails are part of the experience: the Million Dollar Highway (US 550) between Durango and Silverton is one of the most spectacular stretches of road in the country. \nBecause of the significant drive each day\, it is important that your vehicle is in good mechanical condition and fully capable of reliable on-road highway travel\, not just off-road trail use. Your Hummer needs to be road-ready as well as trail-ready. \n  \nOn the Trails\n•       There are no facilities\, restrooms\, or services at any trailhead or on any of the trails – plan accordingly \n•       Bring a full lunch\, extra snacks\, and plenty of water for each trail day \n•       Be prepared for long days – delays can and do happen on technical trails \n•       Some trails are accessed directly off a highway or paved road – your vehicle must be street legal and highway capable \n  \nAltitude Awareness \nDurango sits at approximately 6\,500 feet\, and the New Mexico trails run even lower at around 5\,600 feet. The Colorado mountain trails are a different story\, with some passes reaching above 13\,000 feet. That is a significant elevation gain over a short distance\, and it affects people differently. \nIf you are traveling from a lower elevation\, try to arrive a day early if possible to give your body time to adjust. Symptoms of altitude sickness include headache\, fatigue\, nausea\, and shortness of breath. Stay well hydrated\, avoid alcohol the night before trail days\, and do not ignore symptoms if you start feeling the effects on the trail. \n  \nWeather \nSeptember in the San Juans means highly variable weather. Mornings in Durango can be cool\, and afternoons at elevation can turn cold and stormy with little warning. Morning frost is possible at the higher Colorado trailheads. \nA few things to keep in mind for both altitude and weather: \n\nUV exposure is intense at high altitude. Bring a hat and sunscreen regardless of cloud cover\nSeptember afternoons in the Colorado mountains bring frequent thunderstorms. A rain jacket is recommended\nDress in layers. Temperatures and conditions can change dramatically as you gain elevation throughout the day\n\n  \nOn-Trail Communication\nAll participants are required to have a radio for communication during the event. The club uses FRS (Family Radio Service) frequencies as the primary communication standard. \n•       FRS radios are the standard for this event \n•       A limited number of loaner radios are available – contact the coordinator in advance if you need to borrow one \n•       Handheld units are acceptable – a permanently installed radio is not required \n•       If you arrive without a radio\, notify the event coordinator immediately so arrangements can be made \n  \nCell Service and GPS\n•       In Durango: Cell service is excellent throughout the city \n•       New Mexico trails: GPS coverage is excellent. Cell coverage is generally good in this area \n•       Colorado trails: GPS coverage is good to very good. Cell service may be intermittent or unavailable in some remote mountain areas \n  \nDownload offline maps for both the New Mexico and Colorado trail areas before leaving the hotel each morning. The group uses FRS radios for communication\, which does not require cell service. \n  \nTrail Maps and Navigation\nMaps are not required for this event. The event coordinator is highly experienced with all trail systems in both the Colorado and New Mexico areas and will be leading the group at all times. That said\, having access to your own map is always useful for identifying points of interest\, knowing what section of trail you are on\, or navigating independently if you need to leave early. \nPossible Navigation Apps\n•       onX Offroad: Digital navigation option for these trails. Works similarly to Google Maps but purpose-built for off-road use. Available on iOS and Android. A subscription is required. \n•       Trails Offroad: Another solid option for detailed off-road trail maps. \n  \nTrail leaders will guide the group at all times. Personal maps are supplemental and are not a substitute for staying with the group. \n  \nEV Charging Information for Hummer EV Owners\nDurango has a growing EV charging infrastructure within the town. While most of the available chargers are Level 2 slow chargers (ChargePoint and Blink)\, there are also a few Level 3 DC fast chargers available for those who need quicker charging between trail days. \nLevel 3 DC Fast Chargers\n•       Rivian Adventure Network – 40 Turner Dr\, Durango\, CO 81303  |  CCS  |  300 kW \n•       ChargePoint Fast Charging Station – Located in Durango  |  CCS  |  200 kW \n  \nHotels With On-Site EV Chargers\n•       DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Durango – Tesla Destination Charger (NACS\, Level 2\, 13 kW) and Clipper Creek J1772 charger \n•       SpringHill Suites by Marriott Durango – ChargePoint Station with 4x J1772 chargers at 7 kW each \n  \nEV charging needs on the trails themselves cannot be guaranteed\, as trail selection is finalized at the event. It is strongly recommended that you start each trail day with a full charge. Managing your vehicle’s charging requirements throughout the event is the responsibility of the individual owner. \n  \nMechanical Support – Mod Mafia\nThe Hummer Club is pleased to have Mod Mafia on hand as the Official Mechanical Support Partner for this event. Based out of Magnolia\, Texas\, Mod Mafia is one of the most well-regarded Hummer H1 and HMMWV specialist shops in the country. Engineer-owned and operated\, the shop brings a rare combination of formal engineering backgrounds and extensive real-world trail experience to everything they do. Mod Mafia has been an official club partner since 2020. \nWhen Mod Mafia attends an event\, they arrive with their own tools and spare parts and are available to assist members who experience a mechanical issue or vehicle-related problem during the event. \nLabor for mechanical support at club events is provided free of charge to members. Any parts or materials used are subject to a cost determined by Mod Mafia. \nIf you want to get your truck serviced or inspected before the event\, contact Mod Mafia at modmafia.com or call 1-844-416-2342. \n  \nMod Mafia’s attendance is based on availability and is not guaranteed at every club event. The Hummer Club Inc. makes no representations or warranties regarding the availability\, scope\, or outcome of any mechanical support services that may be offered. \n  \nEarly Arrival and Extended Stay\nEvent staff will not be available before or after the official event dates. However\, members are welcome to arrive early or stay after the event to explore everything the Durango area has to offer. Dave Breggin is happy to discuss local attractions\, scenic self-guided trails\, and recommendations for those who want to make the most of the area. \nDurango and the surrounding Four Corners region offer extraordinary scenery and activities beyond the event itself. Whether you are bringing along guests who may not want to be on the trails all three days\, or simply want to extend your trip\, there is no shortage of things to see and do. \nWhile self-guided trips in the scenic Colorado mountains are not technically part of the club event\, members are welcome to explore on their own before\, during\, or after either in groups or independently. \n  \nNearby Tourist Attractions\nThe Durango area and surrounding Four Corners region are home to some of the most remarkable attractions in the American Southwest. Most require a entrance fee. \n  \n\n\n\nAttraction\nDistance\nNotes\n\n\nDurango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad\nIn Town\nA federally designated National Historic Landmark. Plan ahead and book tickets in advance where applicable\, especially for the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad. \n  \nWhat To Bring\nFood and Water\n•       Pack a full lunch for each trail day – there are no food vendors or facilities on the trails or at the trailheads \n•       Bring plenty of drinking water – staying hydrated is especially important at altitude \n•       Bring extra snacks in case of delays on the trail – it does happen \n  \nClothing\n•       Dress in layers – conditions vary dramatically from Durango to the New Mexico trails to the high Colorado mountain passes \n•       New Mexico trails: Warmer and more exposed\, around 5\,600 feet. Can be hot\, can be cool\, minimal shade \n•       Colorado mountain trails: Can reach 13\,000+ feet. Expect cold temperatures\, wind\, and the potential for rain or early snow in September \n•       Bring a rain jacket – afternoon storms are common in the mountains \n•       Bring a hat and sunscreen – UV exposure is significant at elevation \n•       Wear or bring comfortable walking shoes or hiking boots \n  \nVehicle Preparation\n•       Arrive each morning with a full tank of fuel – do not plan on fuel stops during the trail day \n•       Ensure your vehicle is in good mechanical condition before the event \n•       Bring basic tools and spare parts as you see fit \n•       Your vehicle must be street legal and capable of reliable highway travel to and from the trailheads \n  \nEvent Coordinator Contact\n\n\n\nCoordinator\nDave Breggin\n\n\nPhone\n303-929-1020\n\n\nEmail\nBlueHummer@earthlink.net\n\n\nMech. Based out of the Littleton / Denver area\, this event takes participants on a series of high-altitude trails through some of the most scenic and rewarding terrain Colorado has to offer. \nWhat began as a local event for Denver-area Hummer owners has grown over the years to attract participants from Texas\, Wyoming\, Nebraska\, and other neighboring states. Many attendees return year after year\, a testament to the incredible scenery and the camaraderie of the group. \nOver the course of three days\, participants will tackle a variety of trails ranging from moderate to challenging\, with the final day typically featuring a shorter\, more relaxed route to accommodate members beginning their drive home. Some trails may include optional scenic hikes. The event is organized to be accessible and enjoyable for a wide range of Hummer owners and experience levels\, and intentionally avoids selecting “very difficult” or “extreme” rated trails for this event. \nDaily Meeting Location\nDrivers will meet each morning at 7:00 AM outside the Dillard’s store at Southwest Plaza shopping center in Littleton\, Colorado. This is the staging point each day before departing to the trailhead. It is important that you arrive here fully fueled up\, on time with all the supplies you need to avoid delaying the entire group. \nView Meeting Location on Google Maps \nAddress: Southwest Plaza Shopping Center — Outside Dillard’s\, Littleton\, CO. \n\nTrail Selection\nThe event organizer will pre-run trail candidates in the weeks leading up to the event. Options will be presented to the group at the first morning meeting\, and the group will collectively decide on the trail for that day. \nThe following criteria guide trail selection for this event: \n\nVariety: A mix of terrain types and difficulty levels across the three days\nSunday Trail: The final day’s trail is intentionally selected to be shorter and easier to accommodate members who need to begin their drive home\nScenic Hikes: Some trails may include short optional hikes to nearby viewpoints or summits\nAccessibility: The event avoids “very difficult” or “extreme” rated trails – this event is intended to be enjoyable for a wide range of builds and experience levels\n\nMost trailheads are within 60 minutes from the official meeting point location; some may be up to 90 minutes away \nExamples of Prior Trails\nThe following trails have been run in past years and give a sense of the terrain and variety you can expect at this event: \n\n\n\nTrail\nTrail\n\n\nSpring Creek\nBill Moore Lake\n\n\nJenny Creek / Rollins Pass\nRampart Range Road and Vicinity\n\n\nSaxon Mountain via Cascade Creek\nKingston Peak Area\n\n\nDemocrat & Republican Peaks\nWaldorf / Argentine Pass Area\n\n\nSlaughterhouse Gulch\nDevil’s Canyon\n\n\nRed Cone\nSt. Mary’s Glacier Area\n\n\n\nTrail selections vary from year to year. If you live locally and do not need lodging at all\, that works as well. \nThings To Know About The Local Area / Trails\n  \nThe Littleton / Denver Metro Area \nThis area offers a wide variety of lodging options at multiple price points. The area around the meeting location provides easy access to: \n\nA wide range of hotels\, motels\, and extended stay options\nNumerous restaurants and dining options for every evening\nFuel stations and EV charging locations\nRetail shopping and grocery stores\nVehicle service centers and auto parts stores\n\nIt is worth noting that once you leave the Denver metro and head into the mountains\, amenities become sparse quickly. Stock up on fuel\, food\, and anything else you may need before departing for the trails each morning. Do not count on finding anything you may need near the trailheads. \nGetting to the Trails \nThe actual trails are located in the mountains west of Denver. Most trailheads are within 60 minutes of the meeting point; some may be up to 90 minutes away. Because of the drive to and from the trails each day\, it is important that your Hummer is in good mechanical condition\, with proper tire pressure\, and fully capable of reliable on-road highway travel. Attendees should be prepared for mountain roads\, winding highways\, and areas of limited cell service. Some trails are accessed directly off a highway or local road\, and it is not uncommon to travel back on pavement between trail sections during the day. Your vehicle needs to be as road-ready as it is trail-ready. \n  \nAltitude Awareness \nMany of these trails reach altitudes above 11\,000 feet. If you are traveling from a lower elevation\, allow time to acclimate before the event if possible. Symptoms of altitude sickness can include headache\, fatigue\, nausea\, and shortness of breath. Stay well hydrated\, avoid alcohol the night before trail days if you are sensitive to altitude\, and take it easy if you begin to feel the effects. Altitude affects people differently\, so do not push through symptoms and do not hesitate to let the group know if you are not feeling well on the trail. \nCell Service and GPS\n\nIn the city and Denver metro: Cell service is excellent throughout the meeting area and surrounding suburbs\nOn the trails: Most trails have at least some cell coverage\, though it may be intermittent in remote areas\nGPS: GPS signal is rarely an issue on these trails. A GPS-capable device or mapping app is recommended for navigation\n\nIt is recommended to download offline maps for the areas you will be visiting in case cell service is unavailable on certain trail sections. \nTrail Maps and Navigation\nMaps are not required for this event. The event coordinator is well-informed with the trail systems in this area and will be leading the group. That said\, having access to your own map is never a bad idea and can be useful for identifying points of interest\, knowing what specific trail or section you are on\, or navigating independently if you need to leave the group early for any reason. \nonX Offroad \nThe best digital navigation option for these trails is onX Offroad. It offers detailed trail coverage of the Colorado mountain trail systems used at this event\, with trail difficulty ratings\, real-time GPS navigation\, recent subscriber updates on trail conditions\, and photo previews of trails submitted by other users. If you are familiar with using Google Maps for road navigation\, onX Offroad works in a very similar way but is purpose-built for off-road use. It is available on available on both the App Store and Google Play Store. \nA few things to note about onX Offroad: \n\nA subscription is required to access full map features\nMaps can be downloaded for offline use\, which is strongly recommended given that cell service can be limited in some trail areas\n\nOn-Trail Communication\nAll participants are required to have a radio for communication during the event. The club uses FRS (Family Radio Service) frequencies as the standard for this event. \n\nFRS radios are the standard for this event\nLoaner radios may available for participants who do not have one – contact the coordinator in advance\nYou do not need a permanently installed radio in your vehicle\, a handheld unit is acceptable\nIf you arrive without a radio\, please notify the event coordinator so arrangements can be made\n\nWhat to Bring\nFood and Water\n\nPack a full lunch for each trail day – there are no food vendors or facilities on the trails\nIt is a good idea to bring extra food/snacks than needed if the day runs longer than expected\nBring plenty of drinking water – hydration is especially important at high altitude\nBring additional snacks for energy throughout the day\n\nClothing and Gear\n\nDress in layers – Colorado mountain weather changes quickly even in July\nBring a hat and sunscreen – UV exposure increases significantly at elevation\nWear or bring comfortable walking shoes or hiking boots for trail hikes\nRain gear is recommended – afternoon thunderstorms are common in the Colorado mountains during summer\n\nVehicle Preparation\n\nArrive each morning with a full tank of fuel — do not count on fuel stops during the day\nEnsure your vehicle is in good mechanical condition before the event\nBring basic tools and spare parts as you see fit\nBe aware that many trails exceed 11\,000 feet in elevation\, which can affect vehicle performance\n\nEV Charging for Hummer EV Owners\nThe Denver / Littleton metro area is well-equipped for EV owners\, with both Level 2 and Level 3 DC fast charging options available in abundance throughout the area. Finding adequate charging during your stay should not be a challenge\, and most major charging networks are well represented in this part of the Denver metro. \nOvernight Charging Near the Meeting Point\nThe closest hotel to the meeting point that has an on-site EV charger is the Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Denver Southwest/Littleton (3 miles from Southwest Plaza). The hotel has two J1772 Level 2 chargers that span four parking spaces and are intended for hotel guests. \nA few things to note about this charger: \n\nIt is a private charger for hotel guests and is not listed on Google Maps or public charging network apps\nNon-EV vehicles are permitted to park in the EV spaces\, so the chargers are not guaranteed to be available at all times\nIt is recommended to contact the hotel in advance if you are planning to rely on this charger during your stay\n\nOn the Trails – Nearby Charing \nSome of the mountain towns near certain trailheads have EV chargers available\, however access cannot be guaranteed. Trail selection is finalized by the event coordinator in the weeks before the event\, so whether charging is conveniently accessible on any given day will depend entirely on which trails are chosen. \nIt is strongly recommended that you start each trail day with a high battery charge level. Managing your vehicle’s charging needs throughout the event is the responsibility of the individual owner.\n \nMechanical Support – Mod Mafia\nThe Hummer Club is pleased to have Mod Mafia on hand as the Official Mechanical Support Partner for this event. Based out of Magnolia\, Texas\, Mod Mafia is well-regarded Hummer H1 and HMMWV specialist shop. Engineer-owned and operated\, the shop brings a rare combination of formal engineering backgrounds and real-world trail experience to everything they do. Mod Mafia has been an official club partner since 2020. \nWhen Mod Mafia attends an event\, they arrive with their own tools and spare parts and are available to assist Humer club members if they experience a mechanical issue or vehicle related problem during the event. \nIf you want to get your truck squared away before the event\, you can reach Mod Mafia at modmafia.com or 1-844-416-2342. \nMod Mafia’s attendance is based on availability and is not guaranteed at every club event. \n  \nEvent Coordinator Contact\n\n\n\nCoordinator\nDave Breggin\n\n\nPhone\n303-929-1020\n\n\nEmail\nBlueHummer@earthlink.net\n\n\nMech. Support\nMod Mafia (Mechanical Support Partner)\n\n\n\nEvent Description\nThe Hummer Club is returning to Black Mountain Off-Road Adventure Area for two days of off-roading in the rugged Appalachian mountains of southeastern Kentucky. The club has been visiting Black Mountain since 2010\, and it remains one of the most rewarding parks the club runs each year. With over 150 miles of marked and rated trails sprawling across roughly 7\,000 acres of mountainous terrain\, there is more than enough variety here to keep the group engaged for a full weekend. \nElevations at the park rise to approximately 3\,300 feet\, and the terrain is a unique by-product of the area’s coal-mining and logging history. Old contour mining benches and logging roads form the backbone of the trail system\, which is why Black Mountain delivers a mix of long mountain climbs\, technical rocky sections\, scenic overlooks\, and wide-open trails that flow for miles. \nThe Black Mountain Off-Road Adventure Area is open year-round and managed by the Harlan County Outdoor Recreation Board Authority. The club has built a great rapport with the park over the years\, and members report this as one of the more memorable events on the calendar. \nNote\nIf you follow the Hummer club regularly\, you may have seen an advertisement from the Hummer Club stating that the event was scheduled to take place on May 29 – May 30. Please note that the dates for this event have been rescheduled to what you see on this page now. The event has now taking place June 26 – June 27\, 2026 which is the current details provided on this event page. Additionally\, the optional pre-run day that was previously planned for the day before the event (June 25th) has been removed due to a change in event coordinator. This event will now be a standard two-day off-road event with no pre-run day. \n  \nDaily Schedule\n•       Drivers Meeting: 8:00 AM each morning in the side parking lot of the Quality Inn \n•       Departure: Convoy together from the hotel to the trailhead (approximately 15 minutes away) \n•       On the Trail: Full day of off-roading. After purchase\, you receive a sticker that displays your permit\, which must be affixed to your vehicle in a visible location. \nThe park does not offer one-day or two-day passes. This is the official hotel for the event and the recommended place to stay for all attendees. \n  \n\n\n\nOfficial Hotel\nQuality Inn Harlan\n\n\nAddress\n2608 South Highway 421\, Harlan\, KY 40831\n\n\nPhone\n(606) 573-3385\n\n\nGroup Block Name\nHUMMER CLUB 2026\n\n\nRooms Reserved\n10 rooms total (5 King / 5 Double Queen)\n\n\nDiscounted Hummer Club Room Rate\n$97.00 per night (both King and Double Queen rooms)\n\n\nStandard Rate\n~$115 per night (subject to change)\n\n\nBooking Cutoff\nJune 11\, 2026 – first come\, first served\n\n\n\nTo Book: Call the hotel directly at (606) 573-3385 and reference the group block name HUMMER CLUB 2026 to receive the discounted rate. \nRooms are first come\, first served. Standard rates at this hotel are currently around $115 per night\, so the block rate is a meaningful savings. It is strongly recommended to book early before the cutoff date. \nLocal Area and Park Access\nTown of Harlan\nThe event hotel is located in Harlan\, Kentucky\, a small town in rural southeastern Kentucky. \n\nAlthough Harlan is small\, it offers the basic amenities you may need during the event weekend\, including: \n•       Grocery options including a Walmart and Dollar General \n•       Auto parts stores \n•       Gas stations \n•       Several local restaurants where club members often dine after a day on the trails \nBecause Harlan is rural\, amenities are more limited than in larger cities. If you need specialty items\, vehicle parts\, or anything specific\, it is strongly recommended that you take care of those needs before arriving for the event. \nPark Access and Trailheads\nGetting from the Quality Inn to the trails is about a 15-minute drive to either the Evarts Trailhead (the main southern trailhead) or the Putney Trailhead. The Evarts Trailhead is the more commonly used access point for club events. For trailhead details and information\, see blackmountainoffroad.com/trailheads. \nCell Service and GPS\n•       In Harlan: Cell service is generally very good throughout town \n•       On the trails: Cell service can be spotty in places on the off-road trails. Signal at the top of the mountain or in clearings is usually somewhat better and may still get through\, but expect dead spots in some areas \nBecause cell service is unreliable on the trails\, downloading offline maps before each day is a good idea. The group also uses radios for trail communication\, which does not depend on cell coverage. \nOn-Trail Communication\nAll participants are required to have a radio for communication during the event. The club has moved primarily to GMRS radios\, which have become the standard for most events. CB radios are still acceptable as well. \n•       GMRS radios are the standard for this event \n•       CB radios are still acceptable \n•       A radio does not need to be permanently installed\, a handheld is fine \n•       If you arrive without a radio\, notify the event coordinator. In many cases a radio can be borrowed from another participant \nTrail Maps and Navigation\nDownloading your own digital maps is not required for regular event attendees. Trail leaders and the event coordinator will be using their own maps to navigate and guide the group through the park. \nThat said\, some attendees find it helpful to have their own copy of the map if they want to see where the group is within the park\, understand the trail layout\, or identify areas of interest they may want the group to explore. Having the map available adds context to the trail experience\, but is entirely optional. \nTrail View Offroad Maps\nFree app download\, with the Black Mountain map available as a $12.99 in-app purchase. This is the most affordable option for personal use. \n•       Website: trailviewapp.com \n•       Google Play: Trail View on Google Play \n•       App Store: Trail View on the App Store \n\nLifetime Trail Maps\nBase app license is $259.99 and requires a Samsung Android tablet (Android 11 – 15). This application is geared more towards locals who go off-roading often in the region and covers multiple off-road parks. Likely not the best option for an out-of-town visitor coming for a single event\, but those who own it appreciate it’s functionality and accuracy. \n•       More info: lifetimetrailmaps.shop/product/app \nMod Mafia – Official Mechanical Support\nThe Hummer Club is pleased to have Mod Mafia on hand as the Official Mechanical Support Partner for Black Mountain 2026. Based out of Magnolia\, Texas\, Mod Mafia is a well-regarded Hummer H1 and HMMWV specialist shop. Engineer-owned and operated\, the shop brings a rare combination of formal engineering backgrounds and extensive real-world trail experience to everything they do. Mod Mafia has been a Hummer Club partner since 2020. \nIf you want to get your truck serviced or inspected before the event\, reach out to Mod Mafia in advance at modmafia.com. \nMod Mafia’s attendance is based on availability and is not guaranteed at every club event. The Hummer Club Inc. makes no representations or warranties regarding the availability\, scope\, or outcome of any mechanical support services that may be offered. \n  \nEV Charging Information for Hummer EV Owners\nThere are no EV charging stations at the event hotel. The nearest public chargers are located at the Harlan Center in downtown Harlan. \nHarlan Center – Level 2 Chargers\nAddress: 201 South Main Street\, Harlan\, KY 40831 \n•       (2x) J1772 Level 2 chargers at approximately 6 kW each \n•       Estimated charging speed: ~9 to 10 miles of range per hour of charging \nThese are not fast chargers and are best used for topping off\, not for fully recharging a GMC Hummer EV. Availability and operation cannot be guaranteed\, so these should not be relied upon as your only charging option. \nGMC Hummer EV owners are encouraged to plan charging ahead of time and arrive in Harlan with sufficient range for the weekend. There are no Level 3 DC fast chargers in the immediate area\, so plan accordingly. \n\nImportant Participant Notes\n•       Driver’s meetings are held each morning in the side parking lot of the Quality Inn \n•       All trucks should be fueled and ready to leave for the trails without the need for additional fuel stops \n•       Pack a lunch\, plenty of water\, and extra snacks for each trail day \n•       A camping chair is recommended for sitting during lunch breaks on the trail \n•       A radio is required for communication during the event \n•       Ensure your truck is well maintained and in good operating condition. Bring tools and spare parts as you feel necessary \n•       Be prepared for long trail days; bring appropriate clothing\, fuel\, food\, and water as conditions and trail length can vary \n•       June in eastern Kentucky can be warm and humid with the chance of afternoon thunderstorms; dress in layers \nEvent Coordinator Contact \n\n\n\nCoordinator\nBill Philips\n\n\nPhone\n412-527-5141\n\n\nEmail\nbillphillips11@yahoo.com\n\n\nMech. SUMMARY:Hummer Club Inc. - Leatherwood Spring 2026
DESCRIPTION:Event:\nLeatherwood Spring 2026\n\n\nType:\nClub\n\n\nLocation:\nLeatherwood\, KY 41731\n\n\nDate(s):\n3/27/2026 – 3/28/2026\n\n\nCoordinator:\nBill Phillips\nbillphillips11@yahoo.com\n412-527-5141\n\n\nMechanical Support:\nMember\n\n\nDescription:\n\n\n\nFees:\n\n\n\n\nDriver & Truck:\n$45.00\n\n\nExtra Event T-Shirt:\n$20.00\n\n\nPassenger:\n$25.00\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRegistration Info:\nThe Hummer Club Inc. is returning to Leatherwood Off-Road Park to kick off the 2026 event season. Leatherwood continues to be one of the most approachable and versatile parks on our schedule\, making it an excellent destination for both first-time attendees and seasoned club members. \nLeatherwood is an expansive park with scenic views\, relaxed trail riding\, and plenty of seat time. If you are new to off-roading or have never attended a Hummer Club event before\, this is one of the best opportunities to get involved. The park layout allows drivers to build confidence while still enjoying full days on the trails. \nAt the same time\, Leatherwood offers plenty of more challenging terrain. Members who want to push their rigs will find harder trails\, steeper climbs\, and technical sections throughout the park. You can keep it easy\, step things up\, or mix both styles over the course of the weekend. \nLeatherwood Off-Road Park is located in southeastern Kentucky and officially opened to the public in 2023. The park sits on the historic Leatherwood coal seam\, once mined by the Blue Diamond Coal Company before operations ended roughly 30 years ago. Under new ownership\, the abandoned coal land has been transformed into Kentucky’s largest off-road park\, spanning approximately 50\,000 acres with over 250 miles of trails\, with continued expansion planned. \n  \n\n\n\nEvent Update 3-16-2026\n\n\nThe original event coordinator for this event\, Mike Owens\, is unfortunately no longer able to attend due to personal reasons. In his place\, the Hummer Club has appointed a new event coordinator\, Bill Phillips\, who will be overseeing and managing the event. If you have any questions moving forward\, please direct them to Bill Phillips. His contact information can be found at top of this event page. Since Mike will not be attending the event\, he may not be able to provide accurate information regarding the weekend itinerary or other event-specific details. Bill will now be the primary point of contact for anything related to this event. The event will be proceeding as normal and no other changes are in effect. The Club will still be going offroad.\n\n\n\n  \n  \nEvent Dates\nOptional pre-run day: March 26\, 2026\nOff-road days: March 27–28\, 2026\nDeparture day: March 29\, 2026 \n  \n  \nPre-Run Day Information\nThe pre-run day is an optional bonus day held before the official event begins. This day gives an opportunity for the event coordinator/trail leaders to get a feel for current park and trail conditions\, identify any closures or hazards\, and better plan routes for the main event days. \nNot all Hummer Club members attend the pre-run\, and participation is usually limited to a smaller group. If you wish to tag along\, you are welcome to do so. The pre-run day is informal\, played by ear\, and does not follow a rigid schedule like the main event days. It is a great opportunity to get extra offroad time. \n  \n  \nDaily Itinerary\n  \n\n\n\n Date\n Schedule\n\n\n\n\n Thursday\, March 26\n Optional pre-run day\nor\nArrival travel day for members attending only the main event\n\n\n Friday\, March 27\n 8:00 AM drivers meeting at the hotel\nFull day of off-roading.\nReturn from the trails around 5:00 PM\n\n\n Saturday\, March 28\n 8:00 AM drivers meeting at the hotel\nFull day of off-roading\nReturn from the trails around 5:00 PM\n\n\n Sunday\, March 29\n Travel day and departure for home\n\n\n\n  \nEvent Hotel Information \nA room block has been reserved under The Hummer Club at the following hotel: \nQuality Inn\n2608 South Highway 421\nHarlan\, KY 40831\nPhone: (606) 573-3385 \nDiscounted Room Rates:\n$97.00 per night for two double beds\n$97.00 per night for one king bed \nThere are 10 rooms reserved for the club.\nThe hotel booking cutoff date is March 11\, 2026. Harlan is a smaller sized city\, but does offer basic amenities you may need during the event weekend. Within town\, you will find grocery options\, a Walmart\, Dollar General\, auto parts stores\, gas stations\, and several local restaurants where club members often choose to eat after a day out on the trails. \nBecause Harlan is a rural area\, amenities are more limited compared to larger cities. If you need specialty items\, vehicle parts\, or anything specific\, it is strongly recommended that you take care of those needs before arriving for the event. \nThe actual Leatherwood Off-Road Park is located in Slemp\, Kentucky\, which is not a traditional small town or city but rather a remote location. The drive from the hotel in Harlan to the park is approximately 30.5 miles and takes about 50 minutes each way\, depending on road and weather conditions. \nBecause of the daily drive to and from the park\, it is important that your Hummer is in good mechanical condition\, with proper tire pressure\, and capable of reliable on-road travel. Attendees should be prepared for mountain roads\, winding highways\, and limited cell service in some areas. \nCell phone coverage in Harlan is generally good. However\, once you leave town and begin the drive to Leatherwood\, cell service becomes very limited and in many areas you may have no signal at all. This is normal for the region. GPS navigation on your phone may still function\, but data service should not be relied upon. At Leatherwood Off-Road Park\, cell phone service is extremely limited and is typically only available at higher elevations near the tops of the mountains. \nIn some cases\, it may be possible to leave your Hummer parked overnight in the off-road park parking area. If you choose to do this\, you must confirm permission directly with Leatherwood Off-Road Park staff or ownership. If permission is granted\, you may leave your vehicle at the park and ride to and from the trails with another participant. This can be a helpful option if your Hummer is less comfortable or less road-oriented for longer highway drives. \n  \nTrail Maps and Navigation \n  \nLeatherwood Off-Road Park uses onX Offroad as its official trail mapping system and does not provide a traditional in-house paper trail map. The onX Offroad app is available for smartphones and tablets and provides a detailed view of the park\, including trail locations\, difficulty ratings\, and surrounding terrain. \nGPS functionality works in the Leatherwood area even when cell phone service is unavailable. For those who plan to use the app\, it is strongly recommended that you download the offline map for the area ahead of time while you still have cell service. This ensures full map access while in the park. \nDownloading the onX map is not required for regular event attendees. Trail leaders and the event coordinator will be using the app to navigate and guide the group through the park. If you are simply following along with a group\, you do not need to have the map downloaded. \nThat said\, some attendees may find it helpful to have their own copy of the map if they want to see where the group is within the park\, understand the trail layout\, or identify areas of interest they may want to explore during the event. Having the map available can add context to the trail experience but is entirely optional. \n  \n  \nCharging Information for EV Owners\nThere are no EV charging stations at the event hotel. The nearest public chargers are located at the Harlan Center in downtown Harlan: \nHarlan Center\n201 South Main Street\nHarlan\, KY 40831 \nThis location has two J1772 Level 2 chargers rated at approximately 6 kW. These are not fast chargers and are best used for topping off rather than fully recharging a GMC Hummer EV. At this power level\, expect roughly 9 to 10 miles of range per hour of charging. \nAvailability and operation of these chargers cannot be guaranteed\, so they should not be relied upon as your only charging option. GMC Hummer EV owners are encouraged to plan charging ahead of time and arrive with sufficient range for the weekend \n  \n\n\n\nMechanical Support is provided at all major Club events\nAt Major events the event coordinator and other club members will support any needed repairs to the best of their ability so everyone can fully participate and get home afterwards.

SUMMARY:Moab 2022 *Mod Mafia Support*
DESCRIPTION:MOAB 2022\n         The Hummer Club has been visiting Moab every September for over 2 decades – and every event has been incredible. \n         We’ll hit the trails on Sept. 19\, 20\, 21\, 22 and 23.  BOOYA!  In Moab we’ll run the trails that made Moab famous. Golden Spike\, Moab Rim\, Cliffhanger\, Hells Revenge\, Flat Iron Mesa and Metal Masher – some of the most iconic trails in the Moab area (trails may change). \n        This year we return with a “pre-event” in Durango Colorado prior to the main event in Moab Utah. We wanted to focus on a fun filled\, Hummer powered\, and low-cost off-road event so are cutting back a bit on costs outside of what you keep telling us you want: fun wheeling! There will be FIVE DAYS of Moab awesomeness\, preceded by THREE DAYS of Durango area awesomeness. Come to one\, come to both! \n        The pre-event starts out in Durango Colorado where we will spend three days running Northern New Mexico trails like Grim Reaper and Secret! If you haven’t run either of these trails\,  you have missed out on some of the best Hummer wheeling there is. Your truck will do things you didn’t know it could! If you have been on these trails\, then you probably can’t wait to get to back to them and have another go! We will also offer self-guided trails to breathtaking high-alpine passes\, ghost towns and historic trails near Ouray & Telluride\, Colorado.  Separate registration is required for the Durango pre-event. \n        There will then be a one-day transition to allow time to drive between Durango and Moab. If you haven’t seen Mesa Verde National Park – it’s on the way and well worth a visit! \n       There will be no specific event hotel this year as there are several places to choose from – everything from camping sites to hotel suites with hot-tubs – whatever fits your budget! \n       There will be a driver’s meeting prior to each trail event. Location TBA. \n              Monday September 19th – Moab Trail Day \n              Tuesday September 20th – Moab Trail Day \n              Wednesday September 21st -Moab Trail Day \n              Thursday September 22nd – Moab Trail Day \n              Friday September 23rd – Moab Trail Day – followed by a close-out event dinner. \nSome Notable Information:\n              Driver’s meeting each morning at the departure point (TBA). SUMMARY:Colorado Mountains 2022 - *Mod Mafia Support*
DESCRIPTION:Colorado Mountains 2022\nCome join us for another great 3-day event in the Colorado Mountains.  It will be held on Friday July 15th through Sunday July 17th 2021. \nEvent coordinator:  Dave Breggin\,  BlueHummer@earthlink.net \nWe will spend a good bit of time above 10\,000 feet!  A great way to beat the summer heat.  We will be running trails on National Forest & BLM land to the west of Denver.  Exact trails will be determined at the event so we can accommodate everyone.  We have a huge network of trails to choose from with all levels of difficulty. Trails are usually hard dirt with imbedded rock\, some loose rock\, not much mud but a little rain can change everything.  Most trails are forested\, so mild pin-striping is always possible. \nSome Notable Information: \n             Driver’s meeting each morning at the departure point (TBA).
